Four Generations

From Fruit and Wine Farm to 3-Star Hotel

Proudly, we look back on a centuries-old tradition. The Törggelehof was first mentioned as an old vineyard in a sunny hillside location in 1592, and has been owned by the Gutmann family since 1898. In 1955, Josef Gutmann took over the wine and fruit farm from his father and managed it together with his wife Berta and their 3 children.

In the late 1970s, the old residential building was replaced by a guesthouse with 12 double rooms, a dining room, and a swimming pool. In 1990, Franz Gutmann and his wife Ruth took over the guesthouse, and since then, a lot has changed, with continuous expansion and renovation.

Today, the Törggelehof is run by Ruth and Franz Gutmann, together with their daughters Katrin and Franziska, in the 3rd and 4th generations.

Törggelen, Latin torquere - wine pressing. Torggel is also called the wine press.

Törggelen is an old custom in South Tyrol. Törggelen takes place mainly in autumn. Everywhere where there is new wine, there used to be a lot of Törggelen after the wine pressing in autumn. The love and connection to agriculture

From the fragrant blossom to the crisp South Tyrolean apple

Franz Gutmann cultivates a variety of apple varieties in his orchards. From Royal Gala to Pink Lady's - we have the right apple for every taste.

The white sea of blossoms in spring is breathtaking, as are the colorful leaves in autumn. A delightful display of colors all year round.

Fresh fruit from our own orchard - apricots, peaches, plums, cherries, mirabelles, and much more. Our freshly pressed apple juice contains 100% apples from our own cultivation.

Hostess Ruth Gutmann creates delicious jams, jellies, compotes, cakes, and strudels from our fruit.
